Severnav is one of the most important Romanian shipyards, with an excellent reputation in building and repairing vessels and boats of various capacities.
History: SEVERNAV yard has been established in 1852 by the Austrian navigation Company D.D.S.G. (DONAU DAMPF SCHIFFAHRTS GESELSCHAAFT). Located between Km 1015 and Km 940 (in the area the Danube passes through two mountain chains: the Carpathians and the Balkans), the shipyard operated at first as ship-repairing yard only. The Yard has been connected during the coming years to the railway station, new workshops and an electric supply station have been built.
